music festivals are only fun when you're the one high, drunk, and sweaty. i'm happy the lollapalooza hysteria is over. i forget about it til it comes up every year except that one year i got a free ticket on a thursday (not even one of the prime days of the festival) and i was left unimpressed. why do suburbans come out in droves for this? is it the super drunk with their love of the chicago handshake and overpriced festival food or am i too old to understand that this is the only opportunity teenagers have to do drugs unsupervised without running the risk of their parents catching them sneaking to their room past their curfew? everyone will be out of the city as soon as summer is over. summer comes and goes this fast every year. hard and fast. as much as i love sweat and heat, and giving myself stockholm syndrome because i do not have ac, i am eternally looking forward to the fall. this summer i've been forgetting my camera, refsusing to buy a new phone, and finding difficulty focusing on the external in attempt to protect myself from the psychosis that summer brings. i'm in a sour mood now so i find everybody to be delusional but some days i feel differently.
